YOU can say that I am a person with a very strong sense of FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. Haha.
So, when my cousin invited me to join a trip to Japan, I was like, thought you never ask! On my way, definitely!
OK, this is my summary of my trip to this country of cherry blossom flowers, if I may. Here are some important tips:
1. You really have to be self-reliant as there are not too many people you can ask around if you’re confused. Language barrier is the number one issue. It’s so troublesome. If necessary, get a Japanese course before going traveling to Japan, OK? Haha
2. Indeed, you need to throw rubbish in the right place, but the thing is, where are actually the right places? It’s not easy to find dustbins in this clean country. Haha..
3. You can not eat while walking. No eating while walking. So, for those of you who enjoy fries or gelato so much, please be informed that the Japanese do not munch while moving. Though you can literally find ice cream and drink vending machines everywhere.
4. You will not see many chairs. It’s not easy to find chairs or benches in Japan. Maybe just a few of them. Minimum. Super duper minimum. Everybody moves, they don’t stop, unless when they eat. Even then, sometimes they don’t sit when they eat! Haha itadakimasu 🙏
5. You will not find a charging station easily. Charging station who? What? Where? I guess recharging a cellular phone is not Japanese nature. So, be ready with your power bank. Otherwise, your cellular phone can be dead for some time.
6. You need to always have cash. This is very important, totally. Many stores or restaurants here are still cash-only.
7. You have to walk here, literally. Walking is healthy, right? So, be fit so that you can walk a lot here in Japan. Don’t be lazy, OK? Ha..ha..
8. You need to always get yourself ready before getting on or off from the train here in Japan. It’s to avoid catching the wrong train, or getting on the wrong railroad car, getting off at the wrong station, or even missing the train. Most importantly, for the boys, be aware of railroad cars, especially for ladies. Stay alert, please.
Well, those are the tips. Are you all set to go to Japan now?
